A fire engine was called to deal with a blazing bin wagon at a trading estate on Riverdane Road, Congleton, at 12.50pm last Tuesday.
The blaze, involving waste in the back of the wagon, was out on arrival but items had to be removed, damped down and turned over by Congleton firefighters to ensure they did not reignite.
They used a thermal imaging camera to monitor the temperature and the remaining waste had to be removed by a recovery wagon.
