The popular Holmes Chapel Christmas market and fair returns on Sunday, 4th December.
The event is being hosted by voluntary organisation Holmes Chapel Partnership, which has been working since the summer to ensure the market and fair is bigger and better.

Thanks to generousity from local organisations – Holmes Chapel Parish Council, Massey Feeds, Neon Freight, Anwyl Homes, Thorneycroft Solicitors, Laura Wilson School of Dance, Cheshire Pet and Sibelco – the not-for-profit event is shaping up to be a good evening.
Following the success of 2021’s event, this year’s market and fair will see the return of the festive fairground on the Co-op Car Park with a choice of games and thrills to keep children, teenagers and the young at heart entertained.

Holmes Chapel’s main road, The Square, will be closed to traffic from Barclays Bank down to and including Parkway and brought to life with almost 40 festive stalls. Together with a further 10 stalls located inside the Scout hut, visitors can enjoy the return of popular local vendors, alongside new faces and products.

Festive performances by local groups and schools will take place on the stage near St Luke’s Church, with music and dedications provided by Dane Sound. Santa Claus will also be out on his new sleigh to meet the children.

Many Holmes Chapel shops and venues have also extended their festive spirit to the event by staying open for the Sunday evening and offering their ever-popular products to visitors.
Gail Griggs, events and volunteer coordinator for Holmes Chapel Partnership, said: “Last year’s Christmas market and fair was fantastic and the highlight of the year for many residents in Holmes Chapel – 2022 will be the largest event we have ever hosted, and we are incredibly excited to bring the whole community together for an evening of festive celebrations. Please come along and support our wonderful village!”

Holmes Chapel Partnership would welcome more volunteers to help with the smooth running of this year’s event. To get involved, email events@hcpartnership.org.uk or visit the website hcpartnership.org.uk.

The market and fair open from 3-7pm on Sunday, 4th December.

Entry is free but donations to Holmes Chapel Partnership can be made on the evening to help cover the event’s running costs.
