Plans are steaming ahead for Smallwood Steam and Vintage Rally (4th and 5th September).

The popular May Bank holiday event, held on Love Lane Farm Fields, off the A50 at Smallwood, has been cancelled twice over the last two years but has now got the green light to go ahead in September.

The event organisers plan to hold a two-day show, provided local and national restrictions remain workable – and with the added hope that all restrictions may be eased by September.

Show organiser Ruth Lancaster said: “We are presently working and planning within the current event regulations but are ever-hopeful that as restrictions are eased our show plans will also be modified, while remaining mindful of the extra responsibilities that we face.”

She said entertainment would be subject to the “ever-changing” guidelines but all normal trade and autojumble stalls would be attending, as well as tractor pulling, food and drink vendors, a fairground, vehicle and steam displays and road runs.

“There is always more to be added. Please follow our Facebook page for all the updates,” she said.

She is also inviting entries to exhibit at the show. People can download a form online at smallwoodvintagerally.co.uk
