Alsager Round Table has described Saturday’s carnival as “the best ever”.
It was the day when the wonderful world of make believe came to town as this year’s theme was 100 years of Disney, so there were plenty of colourful character on the parade’s floats.
After making its way from Fairview car park and along the town’s roads, the procession arrived at Milton Park where the perimeter was surrounded by a variety of stalls, fairgrounds rides, a beer tent and plenty of food, drink and charity stalls.
On an overcast, dry and muggy afternoon, the carnival field soon filled up with carnival-goers. There were funfair rides for the young at heart, a show arena where the main attraction was stunt motorcyclist Dangerous Steve, as well as a dog show.
Posting on social media the Round Table said it was “the best carnival ever”.
The organisation also appealed for new members, pointing out on the show field: “This year, Alsager Round Table consists of a group of just eight members – normal blokes with normal jobs, wives and kids who like to make a contribution to their local area and have a good laugh while doing it.
“If you’re a man aged 18-45 and interested in finding out more about joining us and making your own contribution to events like the one we’re doing today, then please feel free to visit the Round Table gazebo in Milton Park today for a chat.”
Work is already underway on future events. The Round Table is now taking bookings from stallholders for Alsager Christmas Lights Switch-on on 26th November. Email alsagerchristmasmarket@gmail.com.
