It has been a busy few weeks for Congleton’s award-winning bath house and physic garden, with several events including performances during the town’s jazz and blues festival and Congleton Museum’s first Art in the Garden day.
Recent developments have included a new rockery and paths at the top of the garden as well as additional planting in and around the physic garden.
The listed early 19th century Georgian bath house, with its rare plunge pool, is a fascinating part of Congleton’s history.
On Saturday, 7th September the garden is holding an open day from 10am to 4pm. There will be tours of the bath house and members of the Herb Society will lead tours of the grounds and herb garden.
There will be stalls selling plants, books and herbal products.
Admission is free and refreshments will be available.
The garden is also open and free to all every day of the year. It provides a relaxing and interesting green space in the heart of the town. It is located on Colehill Bank with access just behind the cenotaph on Lawton Street, one minute from the town hall.
