The award-winning stars of “Britain’s Got Talent”, Alsager’s Denise Leigh and Stefan Andrusyschyn, are presenting an evening of song at the “Potters Cathedral”, St Mark’s Church in Hanley on Saturday, 6-9.30pm.
Since 1834 St Mark’s church has been a place of music and singing, from Sunday Worship to organ recitals and more recently community choirs and seated Indian Fusion dancing.
For the past 18 months St Mark’s has undergone major building works to the tower, roof and interior in the main church as part of a National Lottery Heritage Fund funded programme of works.
For this year’s Heritage Open Day celebration, St Mark’s will once again echo with song.
At 6pm is a pre-show talk. Join The Under One Roof team and find out about the history of St Mark’s, the restoration work and community projects that have been taking place.
At 7pm begin two 45-minute performances with a break in between for refreshments.
Ms Leigh and Mr Andrusyschyn will perform an “uplifting” program of favourite songs from the classical and musical theatre repertoire.
Tickets are free but donations optional.
