As a special (trick or) treat for Halloween, Gandeys Circus is returning with a new action-packed Halloween Spooktacular Big Top show for all the family, playing in Trentham from 13th to 31st October.
When the pandemic broke out in March 2020, the Congleton circus was at the Rycroft site in Newcastle-under-Lyme, and closed the show early. Since then it has not managed to return to the home of the father of circus Phillip Astley.
Having worked hard with the council to find a site big enough, the circus has found a new home at Trentham and will be supporting the Dougie Mac. It has itself had support from the UK Arts Council, the department for digital, culture, media and sport and the Northern Powerhouse in returning to live performance.
The circus won’t have bats in the belfry but does have the UK’s best aerial acts high in the roof of the big top – or is it the Paris Opera House and will the famous Phantom be making an appearance?
Fighting off the Cheeky Halloween Ghosties in the big top will be the Ghost Busters, the Addams family and spectacular artistes who can defy gravity.
