BENNETT. Peacefully at home on 1st September 2024, Raymond James, aged 79, of Timbersbrook. The dearly loved and devoted husband of Hazel; loving dad of Julie and Victoria; dear father-in-law of David and Keith; cherished grandy of Josh, Liam, Meg, Hollie and Ed; treasured great-grandy of Evan; dear brother and brother-in-law, and a great friend to many. Ray will be sadly missed but always lovingly remembered by his family and friends. A service of thanksgiving for his life is to take place at Key Green Chapel on Tuesday, 15th October at 12.30pm. BUXTON (Derek). Suddenly passed away on 21st September 2024 at Royal Stoke University Hospital, Derek, aged 79, of Swythamley. (Joyce née Roden, formerly Adams). Peacefully at rest on 19th September 2024 at Davlyn House Care Home with her daughter by her side, Joyce, aged 97, formerly of Horton and Biddulph. A much-loved wife to the late Len and the late Syd; devoted mum to Pauline; step-mother to Barbara, John and the late Sheila; mother-in-law of Michael; loving nan to Nicola and Verity; great-nan to Tony, and a dear friend and former work colleague at Selectus Ltd, Biddulph. The funeral is on Thursday, 10th October with a service and interment at St Michael’s Church, Horton, at 2pm. Will relatives and friends wishing to attend kindly meet at the church. CUNNINGHAM (Martin William). Passed away suddenly on Wednesday, 18th September 2024 at his home in Nantwich, Martin, formerly of Congleton, and Crewe, aged 76. He was the devoted husband of the late Lynn; cherished dad of Vicky, Nicole and the late Michael; much-missed father-in-law to Danny and Shaun; treasured Gaga to Freya and Sienna, and much-loved brother of Rob. Martin will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all of his family and friends. The funeral service is to take place at 10.15am on Thursday, 10th October at St Peter’s Church, Congleton. GREENSMITH (Mavis). Mavis passed away peacefully on Sunday, 22nd September 2024 at Prestbury House Care Home surrounded by her loving family, aged 77. The cherished wife of the late Eric Greensmith; loving mum to Grace and Erica; much-loved nana to Tara-Jayne, Aysha, Chad, Aston, Kane, and Kyle, and great-nana to Stanley Franklin, Lottie, Mila and Hughie; respected sister to Ann, Sandra and Carl, and mother-in-law to Nigel and Paul. Mavis will be lovingly remembered for her sense of humour, warm personality, friendly smile, love of gardening, strength of character, words of wisdom, and unassuming nature, and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. The funeral will be held at St Stephen’s Church, Congleton, at noon on Thursday, 10th October. Mavis’ funeral will be a celebration of her life; she loved life. Will friends please accept this notice as an invitation to join us in celebrating Mavis’ life. The service will be informal. In keeping with Mavis’ love for colour, the family has requested guests to wear a splash of pink. SHERRATT (Sheila Margaret). At rest on Friday, 20th September 2024 while at Park Lane Care Home, Knypersley, Shelia, aged 80, of Biddulph Moor. A beloved sister of Brenda, Vera and Bernard; a dearest sister-in-law to Diane and Cedric; a much-loved aunt and a very dear friend and neighbour to many. Sheila will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her. The funeral service will take place at Christ Church, Biddulph, Moor on Wednesday, 9th October at noon, prior to interment in the churchyard.
