AUSTIN (Michael, “Mick”). Suddenly but peacefully on Saturday, 17th September 2022, at Stepping Hill Hospital, Michael, aged 81, of Macclesfield and formerly Congleton. The dearly loved husband of Pat; a much-loved dad of Gareth, and loving brother of Eileen and Stephan. He will be sadly missed and most fondly remembered by all his loving family and friends. The funeral service and committal is at Macclesfield Crematorium on Wednesday, 19th October at 2pm. BOURNE (Muriel Anne, nee Vernon). Muriel passed away peacefully on Saturday, 17th September 2022 in the care of staff at Macclesfield District General Hospital, aged 90. The cherished wife of the late Roy; much-loved auntie to Julie, Hamish, John and Andrew; great-auntie to Emma, and Alex; treasured sister to the late Ron and Ivan; sister-in-law to Norma, and a friend to many. Muriel will be lovingly remembered for her employment in Hopkin’s Paper Shop, where she made many friends and spent hours chatting, waiting for the Chronicle to be delivered. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. Muriel’s funeral will be held at Trinity Methodist Church, Congleton, at 12.30pm on Thursday, 6th October. Following the service there will be a private committal at Macclesfield Crematorium. The family is truly grateful for all the kind messages of condolences and cards that have been sent in Muriel’s memory. CHADDOCK (Paul, “Jud”). Suddenly on Tuesday, 13th September 2022 at home, Jud, aged 58, of Biddulph. The devoted and beloved husband of the late Pauline, lifetime soulmates, together again. Most treasured dad of Marie and her partner Jordan; loving brother of Brian, Christine and the late Yvonne; a dearest brother-in-law, a much loved cousin and uncle, and a dear friend and neighbour to many. Jud will be so greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. The funeral service is at St Lawrence’s Church, Biddulph, on Wednesday, 5th October at noon prior to a committal service at Bradwell Crematorium. COLLINGE (Dorothy, “Dot”). On Sunday, 18th September 2022, Dot sadly passed away on her 89th birthday. The beloved wife of the late Ron; dear mum of Christine and Kath, and a sadly missed mother-in-law, grandma and great-grandma. DOWNS (Margaret Carol). Passed away peacefully at Greengables Care Home, Congleton on 16th September 2022, Carol, aged 88, of Church Lawton, and formerly of Cuttleford Farm, Moreton. The devoted wife of Geoffrey, mum to Susan and Jenny, and much loved grandma. GRINDY (Clifford). Passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, 20th September 2022, aged 83, surrounded by his family. Adored husband of Sandra; loving dad to Susan, Julie and their partners Ray and Lee; caring granddad to Rebecca, Jenny, Amy, Isaac, Annie and Harry, and great-granddad to Jack, Harry and Tommy.
