BRETT (Margaret Anne). Passed away peacefully at Turnpike Court Care Home on 12th January 2025, Margaret aged 89 years of Sandbach. The beloved wife of the late Graham; dearly loved mum to Liz, Steve and the late Ian, and a much-loved grandma of Charlotte, Jonathon, Sophie, Natasha and Matthew. Family flowers only. DILLON (Dorothy Jane, née Turnock). Passed away peacefully on 10th January 2025, at Royal Stoke University Hospital, Dorothy, aged 90 years. A treasured wife of the late Vincent; dearly loved mum of David, Sal and Jennie; and cherished grandma of Moyah, Daniel, Ellie, Lydia and Jasmine. EVANS (Kenneth John “Ken”). Peacefully on Monday, 6th January 2025 at Tall Oaks Residential Home, surrounded by his loving family, Ken, aged 99, of Biddulph Moor. The beloved and devoted husband of the late Elsie; treasured dad of Tina; cherished granddad of Jarrod, Emma and Charlotte; a much-loved great granddad, and a dear friend to many. Ken will be greatly missed but lovingly remembered by all his family and friends. GILBY (Malcolm). Malcolm, aged 90, passed away at Sunderland Royal Hospital on Thursday, 2nd January with his loving family by his side. Born in Silksworth, Sunderland, he moved to Staffordshire to start his career then moved to Congleton. He worked at English Electric, Kidsgrove, and was a regular player in Rode Hall Silver Band. He moved north in 1973 to Houghton Le Spring, County Durham. He was a devoted husband, reunited at last with his beloved wife Gladys. Malcolm was a truly special dad to his four children and their partners Paul and Fran, Ian and Elise, Jackie and Steve and Alison and he will be deeply missed from their lives. He was a loving brother to Margaret, Valerie and the late Joyce, and a treasured grandfather to Lauren, Alice and Harry. The funeral service will take place at Sunderland Crematorium on Tuesday, 4th February at 3pm. MARTIN (Patricia, “Eleanor”). With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Patricia “Eleanor” Martin on 23rd December 2024 at the Westbourne Care Home, Holmes Chapel. Patricia, aged 88, of Congleton, was a devoted and loving mother to the late Sandra and Karen, and a cherished mother-in-law to Jim. She was also a beloved gran to Andrew, Matthew, Anthony, Michael, Mark, Robert and Helen, and a treasured great-grandmother (“Gigi”) to Frank, Keira, Sebastian, River, and the expected little one. MCCASH (Greta). It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Greta McCash, of Holmes Chapel, who died peacefully at home, on 30th December 2024, aged 78. Greta was the beloved wife of the late David McCash and the devoted mother of late John McCash. The funeral service takes place at Birches Crematorium at 1pm on Monday, 3rd February. WHEELHOUSE (Derek). Passed away peacefully on 10th January 2025, Derek, aged 96, of Biddulph. The devoted husband of the late Peggy; treasured dad of Rosalind, and an adored Grampy of Sophie. Derek will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. Derek was one of the original founders of Biddulph History Society and was given the title of honorary president. He was also highly involved in Biddulph Grange before the National Trust took over. He continued as a volunteer/steward and by the time he retired he had achieved his 30-year volunteer badge.
