ASPINALL (Anthony). Tony passed away peacefully following a short illness, at Wythenshawe Hospital, on Thursday, 4th March 2021, aged 75. A loving father, brother, granddad, and uncle. A popular character in the village of Swettenham. His funeral will be held privately at Swettenham Cemetery, on Wednesday, 24th March. BURTON (Elizabeth, “Betty”). Formerly of Holmes Chapel and Sheffield, passed away peacefully on 6th March 2021. The much-loved wife of Neville and a cherished mother, mother-in-law, grandma and great-grandma. Cremation on 22nd March, family flowers only; donations, if desired, to the Alzheimer’s Society. HUGHES (Alfred Henry). Sadly passed away peacefully after a long fight with cancer and surrounded by his family on 25th February 2021, aged 91, Alf, of Portsmouth, Stoke-on-Trent and Congleton. The much loved husband of Brenda; adored dad of Patrick and Jeneve, and cherished granddad of Sam, Belle, Harry and Kit. Alf was revered by all who knew him and will never be forgotten. A private service for close family only will take place at Macclesfield Crematorium on 29th March at 1.40pm. At Alf’s request, donations in lieu of flowers can be made to The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. A lunch to celebrate Alf’s life will follow as soon as practically possible. LEESE (Paul Andrew). Paul passed away suddenly on Thursday, 11th March 2021, at Macclesfield District General Hospital, aged 58. Paul, of Congleton, was the loving husband to Elaine; loving brother to Beryl, Andre and Gail; uncle to Brian, David, Claire and Frances; cousin to Hazel; brother-in-law to Dorothy and Brian, Barbara and Graham, Phillip and Susan, and uncle to Sarah, Andrew and Andrew, Peter, Simon and Claire. A private funeral service will take place at Birches Crematorium, Birches Lane, Lach Dennis, Northwich, on Friday, 26th March. LOVE (Alan). On 13th March 2021, peacefully at Townend Close, Crosshills, near Keighley, Alan, aged 86, formerly of Congleton. PAINTER (Irene). Entered eternal rest on Tuesday, 9th March 2021, at Heliosa Nursing Home, Congleton, Irene, aged 94, of Mow Cop. The beloved wife of the late Ron; cherished and devoted mum of Heather and Alan; most precious and treasured nan of Amy, Franky, Flora, Polly and Sophie, and their partners Scott, Paul, Dave and Steve; loving great-nan of Harry, Reggie, Marvin, Ralph, Missy and Beau; dearest sister of Mavis, and a very good friend to many. PREST (Newton Benson). Peacefully at home on Friday, 12th March 2021, with his family by his side, Newton, aged 87, dedicated gamekeeper of the Capesthorne Estate for 59 years. The loving husband of the late Rose and also a devoted dad, granddad and great-granddad. Newton will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. ROBINSON. Peacefully on 11th March 2021, at home, Elizabeth Ann “Liz”, aged 71, of Timbersbrook. The dearly loved and devoted wife of 50 years to Geoff; loving mum of Sharon and Steph; dear mother-in-law of Neil and Matt; cherished and treasured grannie of Jake, Issy and Ollie, and a dear sister and sister-in-law.
