BAILEY (Douglas Norman, “Doug”). Peacefully on 26th September 2023 at home, Douglas “Doug” Norman, aged 81, of Congleton. The dearly loved and devoted husband of Elizabeth “Betty” Bailey; loving dad of Stephen, Ellen and Mark; dear father-in-law of Sylvia, Andrew and Andrea; cherished granddad of Connor, Jack, Ellie, Abbie, Jess, Lilia, Ruby and Oscar, and a treasured great-granddad of Millie. BARKER (Ethel “Margaret”, nee Sumner). Suddenly, but peacefully passed away, aged 86, at Royal Stoke University Hospital on Sunday, 24th September 2023. The devoted and loving wife of the late Arthur James Barker; dearly loved and cherished mother of son Paul; a much-loved auntie, and a true friend to many. After a lengthy battle with illness, borne with great courage, dignity and spirit throughout 2023, may you now be free from pain and suffering. A very special lady who will be sadly missed, especially for her sense of humour, strength of character and love for her family, but never forgotten by all who knew her. God bless. The funeral service will take place at St Lawrence’s Church, Biddulph on Monday, 16th October at 11am, followed by interment at Biddulph Town Burial Ground. BRADBURY (Anthony, “Tony”). Peacefully on Friday, 29th September 2023 while at Royal Stoke University Hospital, Tony, aged 84, of Gillow Heath. The devoted and beloved husband of Doreen; cherished dad of Dawn; dearest father-in-law to Paul; treasured granddad of Kerrie and Jade; doting and loving “Gang Gang” of Shelby; a dear brother-in-law to Alan and Joan, a much-loved uncle, and a good friend and neighbour to many. Tony will be deeply missed by all his loving family and many friends. A service to celebrate the life and love of Tony will take place at Bradwell Crematorium on Wednesday, 25th October at 1.20pm. HASSALL (Jenefer Jane). Passed away peacefully on Sunday, 1st October 2023, aged 73. The much-loved wife of the late Harold Hassall OBE, FRCS; adored mum to John and wife Emma, and loving grandma to Thomas and William. Jenny will be truly missed by all family and friends. NEEDHAM (Anne, nee Whitehurst). Peacefully passed away at Royal Derby Hospital on 29th September 2023, surrounded by her loving family, Anne, aged 91, of Knypersley, recently residing in Swadlincote. The devoted wife of the late Graham; dearly loved mum of Philip and David and mother-in-law of Janet and Jane; much-loved gran of Emily, Hannah, Edward, Lucy, Maria, Isabelle and Jemma, and great-gran of Sophia, Harrison, Ava and Arlo; also a special sister, sister-in-law and aunty, and a dear friend to many. Anne will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family, and friends.
