Knypersley Cricket Club’s annual bonfire and fireworks display returns this year on Friday, 5th November and organisers have promised the event will be “bigger and better than ever” with the display costing between £4,000 and £5,000 to deliver.

The fireworks display will be accompanied by music and will start at 7.30pm, after the bonfire has been lit.

It was one of many fundraising opportunities that the club was unable to run due to the covid outbreak and the funds raised from the event are “crucial” to the survival and future of the club, with the proceeds going towards the running costs of the many junior cricket sides run by Knypersley and the upkeep and maintenance of the ground and equipment.

Gates will open at 5.30pm and as well as the bonfire and firework display there will be a barbecue with burgers and hotdogs and other snacks, a beer tent and plenty of hot and cold drinks available for spectators, as well as a large selection of novelties for youngsters.

At the end of the display spectators are invited to attend a free disco inside the club.

Advance tickets are now on sale at Knypersley Sports Club during opening hours on a Wednesday, Friday and over the weekend. Family ticket (two adults, two children) £17; adults (13+) £6; children (under 12); over-65s £4. They are also available to purchase during opening hours at Sallyanne’s Hair and Beauty Salon in Park Lane and at The Hair Team on High Street.

Payment at the gate on the night will cost £7 for adults and £5 for children and over-65s.
Knypersley Cricket Club chair David Baker said: “The bonfire and fireworks display is a crucial event for the club and we are very grateful for the support we receive from the community.”
