An air ambulance landed near to a Biddulph school after receiving reports of a man in a “critical condition”.

The incident, which resulted in the patient receiving specialist trauma care, took place on Tuesday at 11.51am and saw the helicopter land at the playing fields near to Kingsfield First School.

Biddulph Town Coun Wayne Rogers told the Chronicle that the school had sent a notification to parents to reassure them that the incident did not relate to any pupil.

Two ambulances and a paramedic also attended and found the man on Gunn Street, where he received treatment before being taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital.
