BIRTLES (Margaret). Margaret passed away peacefully on Friday, 26th May 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family, aged 96. The cherished wife of the late Albert; loving mum to Jill and Pam; much-loved mother-in-law to Mike and Mark; treasured granny of Steph, Michelle and Annabelle, and great-granny of Sian, Harvey, Keiran, Anita, Sabrina and Tabitha, and respected sister-in-law of Mary. Margaret will be lovingly remembered for her warm personality, strength of character, words of wisdom and as the matriarch of her family. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. The funeral service is at Christ Church, Eaton, at 11.30am on Monday, 19th June followed by interment in the churchyard. COSTELLO (Alison Jean). After a protracted illness, on 2nd June 2023, aged 70, in Rockingham General Hospital, Perth, Australia. A long-time resident of Wheelock and Sandbach, and parishioner of St Peter’s Church, Elworth, Ali will be dearly missed by her devoted son Sean and his partner Justin in Australia; brother and sister-in-law Stephen and Glenys Burgess, and nephews Richard and Scott Burgess. She was great aunt to Theo Burgess and mother to the late Sheridan (Sheri) Costello. The funeral will take place in Australia with internment of her ashes in Elworth in due course.
