Sandbach Concert Series next event is on Wednesday, 22nd February at 7pm, when Musical Beasts will perform.
The team at Carrot Productions, billed as the world’s leading performers of The Snowman film and Wallace and Gromit in concert with live orchestra, present Peter and the Wolf and The Bear and the Piano. Prokovief’s classic symphonic fairy tale has been abridged for wind quintet and piano, and is performed in costume and from memory.
The programme also includes the animated film of David Litchfield’s award-winning book, The Bear and the Piano, with narration recorded by Joanna Lumley and original music by Daniel Whibley played live by the sextet.
The Beasts are: flute, Amina Hussain; oboe, Rachael Clegg; clarinet, Daniel Bayley; bassoon, Ben Hudson; horn, Naomi Atherton; and piano, Ben Powell.
As usual, there’s a 6.30pm start and at 7pm a spotlight concert, with music performed by talented young people from Sandbach. The main concert is at 8pm. During the intermission there will be an art exhibition by members of Sandbach Art Club.
Tickets cost £12 for adults and £3 for school children.
