Congleton Lawn Tennis Club is offering parents and carers the opportunity to give their child a free tennis taster session once lockdown ends.

The club said it was important that children played more than one sport to help them develop different skills.
By improving physical strength, flexibility, balance, and fine motor-skills, tennis would help children to master other activities off the court.

To register interest in a free tennis taster session, call Craig Leese on 07795 144 154 or email smashtennisuk@outlook.com

The club has also announced eight more partners and sponsors for 2021.

Radchesters Garden Ornaments and Living Concepts are returning sponsors. Radchesters, who sponsored the club singles ladder in 2020, will this year be sponsoring the spring fun tournament.

Living Concepts is returning for third year as sponsor of the womenís doubles tournament.

Six new sponsors have also come on board.

Barre Sculpt, which was due to sponsor an event in 2020 before lockdown hit, has signed up to provide the prizes for the clubís U3A summer tournament.

Portobello Pizzeria, of Lawton Street, has agreed to provide vouchers to the winners of the mixed doubles event, while Visions of Earth, of West Street, is the new sponsor of the men’s doubles event.

The Harrington Arms, in Gawsworth, will be sponsoring the popular festive fun tournament, with meal vouchers on offer to the winners.

The Cheshire Cat Distillery has become the sponsor for the 2021 women’s singles tournament.

Moorlands Graze is sponsoring the men’s singles tournament. The Staffordshire Moorlands-based business is a small, family-owned and operated business providing graze boards across the UK. It said: “We are very excited to collaborate with Congleton LTC and offer sponsorship for this event. It’s great to help local clubs make future plans and it makes everyone feel better.

Club members can also get a discount on orders placed online by quoting the code Congtennis10W online at moorlandsgraze.co.uk

The club still has events available for sponsorship, with the fireworks fun tournament and New Yearís Eve tournament available for standalone sponsorship. The club will also be holding another members’ prize draw for all members signed up and fully paid up by an agreed date and is looking for a local business to donate a prize to the lucky member drawn at random.

The 2020 draw was sponsored by The Cheshire Tavern and was won by Rob Hadley.
