A man has raised more than £2,000 for East Cheshire Hospice by walking from Congleton to Scotland in memory of loved ones.
Leo Deen, of Timbersbrook, trekked all the way to Glasgow and pushed a wheelbarrow, in honour of his sister, a friend and a dog who have all died of cancer within the last year.
The 57-year-old was fundraising for the hospice, which provides palliative care to patients with life-limiting illnesses.
Mr Deen completed his walk, totalling more than 230 miles, in five days, visiting towns and villages along the way.
After finishing the challenge, he received a letter of congratulation from the Lord Provost of Glasgow, Coun Philip Braat for his “amazing sponsored walk”.
A hospice spokesperson said: “It’s amazing how much money he’s raised in this challenge. We’re very grateful.”
