ASHCROFT (Alec). Sadly passed away on 22nd April, 2021, at Macclesfield District General Hospital, Alec, aged 82, of Congleton. Close friend and companion of Sue Tyers; father of Melanie and Carolyn, and sadly missed by Sue’s children Sarah and Nicholas. A service to celebrate Alec’s life will take place at a later date. BOON (David Ian). Peacefully at rest on Sunday, 2nd May, 2021, while at Royal Stoke University Hospital, Dave, aged 62, of Biddulph. A much loved and devoted partner of Claire; very special and loving brother of Michael; dearest brother-in-law to Margaret, and a cherished uncle of Richard. Dave was a character in his own right, he was truly loved and will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A private funeral service will take place at Biddulph Methodist Church on Thursday, 20th May at 11.30am, prior to internment at Woodhouse Burial Ground. BROAD (Catherine, nee Melbourne). It is with much sadness that the family announces the death of our beloved Cathy Broad, on Thursday, 6th May, 2021. Cathy, of Broughton and formerly of Congleton, passed peacefully away at St Catherine’s Hospice, Preston. The beloved wife of Rory and devoted mum of David; sister to Vicky and Rosemary, and much loved step-mum, gran, auntie, cousin and dear friend to so many. Cathy will be greatly missed by all. Cathy’s funeral service will take place on Wednesday, 19th May at Preston Crematorium. Donations are being gratefully received for St Catherine’s Hospice (justgiving.com/fundraising/cathybroad). JONES. Peacefully on 6th May, 2021, at home. Margaret will be better known as the proprietor of G&M Jones / Thorougoods from 1987, which the family still owns today. She was the dearly loved and devoted wife of Graham, loving mum of Claire, and a dear mother-in-law of Richard. The The funeral service will be held at St Stephen’s Church, Congleton, prior to committal at Macclesfield Crematorium on a date to be confirmed. MATTHEWS (Robert, “Stan”). Passed away peacefully after suffering with a short illness on Monday, 3rd May, 2021, at his home, Stan, aged 65.
